Process

Initial Contact

You contact me with a project. I will then get on a call with you to get a better understanding of your project and I will answer any questions you may have.

Questionnaire

After our kickoff call, I will create a Questionnaire based on what we discussed. The Questionnaire will be filled out by you. The Questionnaire will be the basis for the Brief.

Brief

We will either meet in person or on video call to discuss the project goals. I will present to you the project Brief. The design Brief serves the purpose for laying out the foundation for the decisions made throughout the design process. If you agree with the Brief, then we will both sign-off on it. If you don’t agree with it, then we will refine the Brief to your liking. We will then sign-off on the Brief.

Pricing

The Pricing entirely depends on your needs and what kind of project it is. During our meeting about the project Brief, we will discuss Pricing for the project.

Agreement Form

After the project Brief and Pricing are agreed upon, I will email you the Agreement Form (aka the contract) highlighting the Brief, Project Timeline, Pricing, and Terms & Conditions.

A 30%-50% deposit of the total project cost will have to be paid by you upon acceptance of the contract. Both you and I will sign the Agreement Form before I start any designing.

Discovery

The Discovery phase is an essential part of the design process. During this phase I will research and analyze your name or company, your company’s competition, and your target audience. I will also study similar themes to your project to gather inspiration for the design process. Additionally, I will mind map keywords that we discussed in the Brief.

With all the research gathered, I will then create a mood board(s) of my discoveries. The mood board will help generate ideas during the design process and aid us towards the project’s goals.

Mood Board(s)

A Mood Board, aka an inspiration board, is a collection of images, typography, colors, etc. that is intended to portray a certain style or idea. I will meet with you either in person or on video call to present you the Mood Board(s), and we will decide on the direction we want to go in for the project.

Logo Creation

The Logo Creation process starts with an initial round of sketching on paper. It is the best way for me to quickly develop my ideas and allows me to experiment more freely. Next, I will move from paper to digital format. I will then use Adobe Illustrator (a vector-based program), to refine my sketches.

Logo Presentation

We will either meet in person or on video call, and I will present to you a printout or PDF for every round of logo concepts. The first round will consist of at least three logos in black and white. It is important that every logo works in black and white before moving onto color. Every logo presented will be accompanied by analysis notes explaining the breakdown of the logo.

The second round will include updates, if necessary, of up to two concepts from the previous round.

The third round will be the presentation of color concepts and mockups (refer to the mockups section below for more information).

The fourth and final round will consist of the final logo presentation. Make note that you are not limited to just four rounds as you are allowed revision rounds throughout the design process.

Mockups

Mockups are a demonstration of what a design would look like in real-life applications. I will show you what the logo would look like on merchandise, signage, business cards, etc. You can see examples of Mockups used via Duvio Studio’s portfolio.

Logo Package

After the final logo is decided on and if this is the only thing needed for the project, then I will send you a Logo Package file with the logo in various formats.

The Logo Package will include files for both print and digital. The print files will consist of AI, PDF, EPS, and TIFF formats. The digital files will consist of JPG, PNG, and SVG formats. You will also receive different versions of the logo. You will receive a CMYK, Pantone, all black, all white, and RGB versions of your logo.

The Logo Package will also include a cheat sheet that will explain each file format and where to use each format.

Additional Designs

If the Brief requires more than just a logo design, such as Stationery Suite design or a Brand Style Guide, then the Logo Package will come at the end of those design needs.

Stationery Suite

If mentioned in the Brief, then I will design Stationery Suite elements. This includes designs for business cards, letterheads, envelopes, posters, banners, signs, brochures, invitations, menus, presentation decks, merchandise, vehicle wraps, and much more.

After the completion of any of the Stationery Suite designs, I will provide you with the appropriate file formats for each design.

Brand Style Guide

A Brand Style Guide, or an identity manual, is a set of guidelines for your overall brand. The Brand Style Guide is the perfect tool for dictating how a brand is perceived and how it looks & sounds.

One of the primary functions of the brand guide is that it conducts itself as a rule book. In it you’ll find methods on how to properly utilize the logo, when to use type, and what colors are accessible. Additionally, you’ll locate how to properly treat stationery suite elements, how merchandise looks, and more.

If a Brand Style Guide is requested per the Brief, then I will provide you with an AI, PDF, and EPS file at the completion of the project. You can see an example of a Brand Style Guide by viewing the case study for No Sleep New York.

Support

At anytime after the job is complete, I will be available for any questions or concerns you might have. If you have any further questions, then please refer to the FAQ or contact me.

The Pricing entirely depends on your needs and what kind of project it is. When you first contact me, please list out your requirements. I will get back to you with a questionnaire to fill out in order for me to get a better understanding of your goal. Once I receive your questionnaire, I will then contact you with a quote.

After accepting the quote, I will send an Agreement Form for you to review. The Agreement Form will highlight the project goals, project timeline, quote, and legal verbiage.

In order to start the project a deposit will be required. Once the Agreement Form is signed by all parties involved and the deposit is made, I will then begin the project.

Referencing the questionnaire you filled out, I will then create a design Brief that will list the project goals. In order to move forward with the project you will need to confirm the design Brief. The design Brief serves the purpose for laying out the foundation for the decisions made throughout the design process.

There maybe a time where it is necessary to step away from the design. This allows me the opportunity to review the design with fresh eyes and new ideas. I take on a very careful and detailed process to ensure that I produce a logo of the finest quality.

I will present to you a PDF for every round of logo concepts. The first round will consist of at least three logos in black and white. If necessary, then you will also receive versions of the logo with a trap around it. A trap is a stroke around the outer-edge of the logo that helps the logo standout from a colored background.

The Logo Package will also include a cheat sheet that will explain each file format and where to use each format.

Depending on your needs, I also offer Stationery Suite design.
